Classical ballet, contemporary and repertoire classes are held 5 times a week, from Monday to Friday.

You can have an insight into the everyday life of a professional dance company.

Duration: September 2020 to June 2021.

BDT Elite Training Program provides participants with a unique opportunity to train as versatile and multi-disciplinary dancers, working and training alongside with Budapest Dance Theatre, one of the leading dance companies in Hungary.

The program’s faculty is composed of some of the best choreographers and dance teachers in Hungary and worldwide. Alongside dance techniques, participants will explore the rich repertoire of BDT, which has been built up with work from internationally well-known choreographers from the Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, Israel etc.
The company has significant educational activity as well. The regular training of the dancers is held by the qualified standard of Budapest Dance Theatre. The versatile training involves classical ballet, modern, floorwork and contemporary techniques and repertoire classes.
Furthermore, during the year, members of BDT give dance classes to participants and they also have the chance to take part in courses of international dance teachers from France, Israel, the Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Spain etc.

In addition during the Program, students have performances as well, from the repertoire of Budapest Dance Theatre.
After finishing the Program, several students have been picked to work for professional companies, in Hungary or also in other countries.

Working side by side with BDT in repertoire rehearsals, students will gain an insight into the working environment of a professional company.
Those who fulfil the Program with outstanding quality, have the chance to receive a private diploma of BDT.
In the end of May there is one-week long examination time.

The ELITE Training Programme will be held in Budapest at the home of Budapest Dance Theare.
15 Koppany Street, in the 9th district, Budapest 1097.

The BDT’s ELITE Training Programme is 10 months long of intensive training over the period of a year, and optional participation in the International Summer Intensive Dance Course organized by BDT towards the end of the programme.
The Programme runs from September till June.
Students must be able to commit to all weeks of the course.
The Programme consists of the classes from Monday to Friday, 4 hours each day.

Budapest is a breezy and juvenile city, which offers several opportunities to the young, and has a lot to explore.
There are numerous cultural programmes as well as plenty of out and indoor events, which is a must for you to explore.
We also give you some information of the average living costs:

– living alone in the capital costs just approx. 100.000 HUF (300 EUR/month)

– you can have shared apartments from approx. 60.000 HUF
(200 EUR/month)

If the participant needs, we can help to find an apartment via the internet.

Applicants must be over 18 years old by the 1th September 2020. The course is suitable for school leavers, students or experienced performers, and dancers aiming to continue their professional development.
Applicants must have experience in everyday training previously, to be able to fulfil the classes both physically and mentally.

For European Union members:
The cost of the BDT ELITE Training Programme is 1500 Euro/ Semester. The Programme contains 2 semesters a year.
Fees have to be paid in two instalments at the beginning of September and at the beginning of February, which are non-refundable.

For non- European Union members:
The cost of the Programme is 3000 euros, which includes 10 months of intensive training, which has to be paid in the beginning of September.

The Program includes 10 months intensive training, Studio presentation, and one ticket to the premiere of BPDT’s new production which is displayed at the National Dance Theatre.

Application Process
The audition for BDT’s ELITE Training Programme 2020/21 is an OPEN audition.
It will be held by video audition. Therefore applicants do not need to travel to Budapest for auditioning. There is no audition fee either.
