Exciting new opportunity for highly skilled ballet dancers looking to transition into a professional career!
Arles Youth Ballet Company (AYBC) is a new venture looking to empower young ballet dancers from all over the world to achieve their dream of dancing professionally without forsaking humanity and mutual respect.
Artistic Directors Norton Fantinel - former Principal at The Washington Ballet and Tulsa Ballet in the US, Sao Paulo Companhia de Dança in Brazil, Dortmund Ballet in Germany and Ballet du Capitole in France and principal guest performer at multiple international galas - and Karina Moreira – former dancer at Theater Municipal of Rio de Janeiro, Des Badisches Staatstheaters Karlshure, Ballet Ireland, Sao Paulo Companhia de Danca, Tulsa Ballet, Dortmund Ballet in Germany and Ballet du Capitole in France and guest in multiple international galas - want to deliver high quality classical and contemporary training in a safe and healthy environment.
Having forged numerous relationships through their rich professional careers, the Directors will bring several international guest choreographers such as Yoel Carreno, Oscar Chacon, Anais Chalendard, Lynne Charles, Allan Fallieri, Brigitte Lipari, Jose Perez, Gisele Santoro and Kateryna Shalkina to name a few, and thus achieve an exciting and varied repertoire.
The goal is a company without labels that develops the dancers technically but that also helps to bring out each one’s individual personality, strengths and passions. The vision is to create beautiful dancers who have also grown to be beautiful human beings with the skills and tools to join the professional world smoothly.
Public performance opportunities will be provided throughout the year as we feel the stage is essential to develop a performer. The artistic and technical work is accompanied by in-house body conditioning, Pilates and physiotherapy.
AYBC is set within beautiful Arles and Fourques and boasts of light 300m2 dance studio equipment with Harlequin floors, changing rooms, physio room and kitchen. The wellbeing of our students is our first priority and we ground our decision making process on dance-specific research-based information. As such, the working day of the students is balanced to decrease burn out and repetitive strain injury, providing optimal conditions for success.
Students will be exposed to: - Ballet technique - Point work - Boys technique - Pas de deux - Contemporary technique - Classical and Contemporary repertoire - Pilates and HIIT - Mentoring and career planning - Exchange with international dance companies
