Patrick Delcroix, choreographer, was educated at the Centre International de Danse Rosella Hightower in Cannes and the Ecole de Danse Colette Soriano in Orthez, France.

In 1982 he joined the Iwanson Dance Company in Munich before being engaged by the Scapino Ballet in Amsterdam and the Nederlands Dans Theater 1 where, under the direction of Jiri Kylian, he danced from 1986 to 2003 becoming a major figure of the company.

During these 17 years at NDT he worked extensively with many celebrated figures including William Forsythe, Mats Ek, Ohad Naharin, Edouard Lock, Nacho Duato, Hans van Manen and of course Mr. Kylian, with whom he created over 15 ballets with.

Patrick began his choreographic career with the introduction of the NDT annual workshops in 1988. He was further encouraged by Kylian to pursue this field, being invited to create numerous works for all three sectors of the Nederlands Dans Theater. To date, Delcroix has created and re-staged over 40 works on 25 companies around the world, including the Ballet Basel, Ballet du Capitole, Cape Town City Ballet, Wienerstaatsoper Ballet, Aalto Ballett Theater Essen, Cia. Cisne Negro de Sao Paolo, Ballet Jazz de Montreal, Introdans, Introdans Ensemble for the Youth, Prague Chamber Ballet, Croatian National Theater, Junior Ballet Genève,  It Danza, Djazzex, Artscape, New English Contemporary Ballet, Tanz Theater Braunschweig, Companhia Portuguesa de Bailado Contemporâneo, Tanz Luzerner Theater, Dancers of the Royal Ballet, Royal Conservatory Den Haag, Royal Conservatory Antwerp, Nationale Balletacademie Amsterdam and ArtEz Arnhem.

He is also employed by Kylian Productions to re-stage the repertoire of Jiri Kylian and has done so on such companies as the Royal Danish Ballet, Boston Ballet, Bern Ballet, National Theater Ballet Prague, Kobe Ballet, the Georgian National Ballet, Companhia de Danza Sao Paolo, Semper Oper Ballet, Ballet de l’Opera du Rhin and the Paris Opera Ballet.

In 2001, Patrick Delcroix was knighted by the French government for services to the arts, being made "Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres"
