Fascia Plantaaris (Fascia Apponeurosis) Rupture

Pre injury : Great work load pattelar tendonitis (knee cap- Jumpes Knee) limited pliees and irritated fascia.
Cause: Landing Double Assemble sharp pain as landing on a nail.
Symptoms: Minimal swelling not possible to put any weight on.
Diagnose:Primary just a pulled ligament after a week MRI taken clean rupture off the calcanius (heel bone).
MRI Pick rupture vissible by the arrow next to the heel back line
Treatment: 4 weeks cast no weight bearing (2 weeks 45 degrees 2 weeks 90 degrees angle to limit
stiffness in the foot ) 2 weeks strong taping first steps 10 days after cast off
Mobilizing by physio and some low weight exercises flex point ,stretched foot side to side,
No rotations not to cause any damage in the capsule. Slowly build up to walking on the
machine and some bicycle low resistance other mobility exercises increasing the weight
slowly to see how it goes patience is the key!!!
After 7 weeks post injury fascia heeled about 70%.
3 moths after injury slowly started to take ballet class.
5 moths after injury first performance but not yet fully back.
Normal recovery cycle 7-9 primary trauma 3 months to complete healing waitbearing of fascia
about 7 more months to fully recover the power mobility and stability.
Now six Months post injury performing slowly recovering most problems with stability on
demi-point not yet able to land a full power jump on one foot but i am close.
Patiance is the Key don't rush back!!!
