The Royal Ballet is Great Britain's most prestigious ballet company and one of most prestigious ballet companies in the world. The Artistic Director of the company is Monica Mason.

Principals are some of most sought after dancers include Alexandra Ansanelli, Leanne Benjamin, Federico Bonelli, Alina Cojocaru, Lauren Cuthbertson, Mara Galeazzi, Johan Kobborg, Sarah Lamb, David Makhateli, Roberta Marquez, Laura Morera, Marianela Nuñez, Rupert Pennefather, Ivan Putrov, Tamara Rojo, Viacheslav Samodurov, Thiago Soares, Edward Watson and Zenaida Yanowsky. Carlos Acosta and Miyako Yoshida are regular guests.

Repertory ranges from great classical ballets( full-length)  including The Royal Ballets own heritage(works by its Founder Choreographer Frederick Ashton and Principal Choreographer Kenneth MacMillan), alongside new works by the foremost international choreographers of today and choreographers from within the Company’s own ranks. As well ballets by George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, Wayne McGregor and ect.

Company is trying to reach audiences as well via medias and has an large outreach program by organizing courses and workshops.

The Royal Ballet was founded by Dame Ninette de Valois, dancer, choreographer and entrepreneur, who assembled a small company and school, the Vic-Wells Ballet,in 1931, with a home at the Sadler's Wells Theatre in North London. In February 1946, they transferred to the Royal Opera House, premiering a The Sleeping Beauty to reopen Covent Garden. In 1956, to mark its 25th anniversary, the name The Royal Ballet was granted by Royal Charter.
