Cullberg Ballet

The Cullberg Ballet founded in 1967 by Birgit Cullberg and was the artistic director of the company till 1985.

Since 1970 Mats Ek  created numerous works for Cullberg Ballet such as Soweto, Bernarda, nwe wersions of the old classics such as Giselle and Swan Lake and Carmen (Emmy Award).

Mats Ek was director of the company from 1982 till 1993.

Since Carlyn Carson, Lena Wennergren-Juras and Margareta Lidström were directors of the company.

Johan Inger director from 2003-2008 ex NDT dancer where he also had his choreographic debut.

His Creations are on the repertory not only in Cullberg Ballet but in companies worldwide.

Cullberg Ballet is an internationally acclaimed company touring extensively worldwide and is an important cultural ambassador for Sweden.
