
The Compagnie Humaine is an independent contemporary dance company, developing projects bringing together freelance artists from various disciplines: dancers, composers, filmmakers, visual artists, set designers, costume designers, photographers, writers ...
Founded by Eric Oberdorff, internationally renowned choreographer, the company is based in Nice since it began operations in September 2003. It has become in recent years an important and recognized player of the dance and cultural life of southeastern France through the quality of its creations and its performances in France and abroad.
Its multidisciplinary projects based on the human being, the relation to each other and exchanges, as well as its sincere desire to be involved in the socio-cultural , allowed him to develop partnerships and co-productions with various partners and varied as the Ballet Preljocaj, the Théâtre National de Nice, Made In Cannes, the Flux Laboratory / Geneva, National Conservatoire of Nice, Choreographic Development Center Le Pacifique, Choreographic Development Center Les Hivernales Avignon, the International Dance School of Cannes Rosella Hightower, National Education Departments in France and Monaco, University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis ...
With strong commitment from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region Council and the Ministry of Culture and Communication on its side, the Compagnie Humaine also receives continued support of local communities, including the Cities of Nice and Cannes
Working with both confirmed artists and young performers, the Compagnie Humaine has since 2003 created sixteen projects which are touring in France and abroad.
Beyond the creative work and performances, the Human Society is very involved in its missions of education, training and transmission. His artistic identity, his ambitious building projects and numerous actions against public are further proof of its commitment to democratization of contemporary dance.
