Stéphen Delattre, born in France, recieved his initial training as a dancer at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Danse Roland Petit in Marseille from 1993 to 1999. First engagements led him to the Jeune Ballet International Rosella Hightower in Cannes in 2000, followed by the Staatstheater Saarbrücken in 2002, the Staatstheater Braunschweig in 2004, the Staatsoper Hannover in 2006 and the Stadttheater Augsburg in 2007. Since 2009, he has been Soloist of the Staatstheater Mainz and is lately regulary invited as guest around the world for differents events.
Stéphen has danced a wide repertoire including works by George Balanchine, Mauro Bigonzetti, Davide Bombana, Nacho Duato, Mikhail Fokine, William Forsythe, Itzik Galili, Jacopo Godani, Marco Goecke, Thierry Malandain, Emily Molnar, Martino Müller, Kevin O´Day, Roland Petit, Angelin Preljocaj, Georg Reischl, Christian Spuck, Pascal Touzeau, Didy Veldman and Renato Zanella.
He has interpretated main roles like in "Traumgekrönt" or "White Rabbit/ Alice im Wunderland", "Mercutio/ Romeo and Julia", "Fritz and Chinese/ Nutcracker", "Lysander/ Sommernachtstraum".
In 2000, he got the "first prize" (solo and duo) in the Nationale Dance Competition from the PACA area. Stéphen Delattre was nominated "Bester Tänzer 2009" by Augsburg Journal in 2009.
Stéphen Delattre, has started choreographing at the age of 13. He has created several pieces like in 2002 for the Ecole Supérieure de Dance in Cannes (France), in 2003 and 2004 for the Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken, in 2005 and 2006 for the Staatstheater Braunschweig. In 2005, Stéphen also got invited to present his work in Japan. In 2007, he got the offer to make a new creation for the Staatsoper in Hannover and got invited to perform for the 15th Modern Dance Festival in Portugal. After his selection to the International Internet Dance Festival Side-by-Side in Düsseldorf, his work got nominated as "The Best Video of the month" by www.ballet-tanz.de. In 2008 and 2009, he has created many pieces for the Stadttheater Augsburg and continued to show his choreographic work as guest in the Staatstheater Stuttgart, Stadttheater Gießen and in the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz München (Aids´ Gala). In 2010, he presented his last work in Italy for the 2nd International Stage Dance Gala and in Berlin for the Lucky Trimmer Tanz Performance. In 2011, after he has created his piece "BLA Bla bla" for dancers from the Staatstheater Mainz, Stéphen Delattre has made his own full choreographic evening "Poetry takes Form" for the Mainzer Kammerspiel Theater, supported by the Culture Minister.
Delattre has created lately for Principal Dancers from the Staatstheater Karlsruhe, the English National Ballet (London) or even for Bridget Breiner, Katja Wünsche and Alexander Zaitsev (Principal Dancers from Stuttgart Ballet).
In 2008, Stéphen was nominated as "Bester Nachwuchs-Choreograf 2007" by danceforyou-magazine.
Lastly for the four last consecutive years, Stéphen Delattre has choreographed for the Noverre-Gesellschaft in Stuttgart and also the last four years for the International Choreographers Contest in Hannover, where he recieved the "Critic´s Prize 2010".
